InHome Electronics is a technology-consulting firm that provides
home-owners and small businesses with support for the selection,
installation, and integration of home entertainment experiences.
The company was founded in November of 2000 and is owned and
operated by Brad Nay. The vision of InHome Electronics is
to have one remote control on every coffee table allowing
people to get the most out of their home theater.
The increased
complexity of home entertainment systems and technology involves
a bewildering array of components, remotes, connections, and
configurations. The average system today for a home with an
InHome theater system typically includes a large screen (42
inches or greater) high definition television, an A/V receiver,
a digital connection via a cable or satellite box including
a digital video recorder (DVR), and a DVD/CD player or player/recorder.
More complex systems may include computers, gaming consoles,
home automation, security cameras, and a multitude of other
components. With such complexity, simply watching a rented
movie may involve turning and selecting specific options for
three or more components such as the television, the A/V receiver,
and the DVD. A juggling act to say the least. Recognizing
this complexity, many manufacturers are creating programmable
remote controls that simplify these choices by reducing
them to a single keystroke. However, setting up these systems
and configuring the various components can be time consuming
and complicated.
The owner Brad Nay has twelve years experience in electronics
installation, project management, and customer service. A
graduate of the University of Akron with an Associates Degree
in Business Management and Technology with Highest Distinction
in 2000 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
Cum Laude in 2006, Brad has operated InHome Electronics simultaneous
to his Academic pursuit. His passion for solving problems
through technology while providing customers with prompt service,
has allowed him the ability to turn his passion into a sustainable
career. “It is an outlet for creativity and fulfillment
that a traditional 9 to 5 desk job simply cannot satisfy.”
